Taganga

What is it?: Taganga is a small town which majorly relies on tourism and fishing. The town is very poor and has few access to freshwater and other resources such as a good hospital but Santa Marta, a big city, is just about 45 minutes away. Santa Marta has good hospitals and access to resources such as an hyperbaric chamber if needed. There is also no guaranteed access to an ATM so be sure to get your money in Santa Marta before you head to Taganga. It is not recommended to walk alone in the dark streets at night but the main street facing the sea has lots of night activities especially designed for tourists.
